Ari Hurtado, M.A. in Human Development, CPDLT
Ari Hurtado, has devoted her life to education with children and adults, which is her passion. She was an English teacher for many years and owned and directed a Montessori school for more than 10 years. She is a Lead Trainer for the Positive Discipline Association and has been teaching Positive Discipline trainings for parents, teachers and organizations in México, Latin América, Spain, France and China. She is also the publisher for the Positive Discipline series books in Latin América.
She believes in the principles that she teaches as a foundation for respectful relationships, which she's had the chance to learn and practice through her relationships with her husband, her 3 children: Alex (31), Annie (30) and María (28) and now with her granddaughter Julia (11 mo).
Dodie Blomberg, M.Ed, is passionate about helping people improve their lives through creating respectful relationships in their families, schools and communities. She taught 5th grade in Tempe, Arizona for over 12 years. She is a Lead Trainer for the Positive Discipline Association and an Adler Trained Coach. She has been practicing Positive Discipline and facilitating workshops for over 25 years. She has had the honor and pleasure of sharing helpful parenting and teaching skills all over Arizona, the United States, internationally and online! She is most proud of her two adult children, Colton 29, and Cassidy 26.
Workshop Description: This two-day interactive workshop is designed for teachers, counselors, school staff and administrators who want an effective discipline approach that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging student behaviors. Attendees will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educator and will learn to:
- Develop a large teaching toolbox of kind and firm discipline approaches.
- Establish explicit classroom structures and procedures.
- Create an equitable classroom community based on mutual respect.
- Understand the motivation behind students' misbehavior and how to encourage positive change.
- Facilitate effective class meetings teaching social skills and problem-solving.
- Learn Positive Discipline/Adlerian Psychology for use in the classroom and school community.

Any of us face new behavior challenges as we navigate life with COVID – 19, and teachers and counselors may find themselves discouraged and depleted. This two-day interactive workshop is designed for teachers, counselors, school staff, and administrators who are looking to boost their energy, renew their love for working with children, increase connection with colleagues and students and learn new practical strategies. Positive Discipline is an effective discipline approach based on Adlerian Psychology, that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging student behaviors. Attendees will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educators.

The Positive Discipline Association is pleased to provide the opportunity for educators to earn graduate-level university credit. Whether you attend one of our live workshops or participate in an online workshop, you may choose to earn 1 to 4 non-degree credits. These credits are for licensure renewal and salary step increases only. The cost of graduate-level credit is separate from the workshop registration fee. Click Here for more information.
Positive Discipline Association courses approved for Graduate-Level Semester Credits through University of the Pacific will appear on an Official Transcript with a letter grade.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop.
In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified by email.
