Parenting Class Description: Are you a parent or primary caregiver of a child aged 0–8? We warmly invite you to an engaging and transformative
workshop led by certified Positive Discipline Parent Educators Jinny Gonzalez and Sveta Pais. Visit https://www.austinmontessori.org/partnership/positive-discipline-workshops to learn more about Jinny and Sveta and read testimonials from parents who have attended their workshops.
Why Attend?
This workshop is designed for those seeking long-term, effective parenting skills to help children think independently and make responsible choices, develop self-respect and respect for others, and foster cooperation, confidence, and problem-solving skills.
What You'll Gain:
Rooted in Adlerian theory, Positive Discipline is an encouragement-based approach that balances kindness with firmness. Instead of just addressing behaviors on the surface, you'll learn how to:
1) Understand the root causes of your child's behavior.
2) Strengthen family relationships through mutual respect and encouragement.
3) Apply discipline strategies that consider what your child is thinking, feeling, and learning and deciding about themselves.
4) Invite children to discover how capable they are by encouraging the constructive use of personal power and autonomy.
This is not a lecture-style workshop! You'll actively participate in discussions and role-playing exercises, making it a truly engaging and practical experience.
